  1. very cool- love the focus on the books with the transparent subject. The colors work nicely, too!

  2. Nice colors and lighting! Very nice composition. I like how you recreated the original, and it comments on the day in the life of a college student. No suggestions!

  3. I really like how everything around the figure is in focus and it makes it even more interesting that the arm of the figure is in focus, while the rest of the figure is translucent. The lighting is pleasing too.

  4. I really like how the subject is transparent, it really helps the idea of college students drowning in work and always on the move getting things done so much its like that their not even really there, I also like how the subject isn't the main focus of the image, which also helps to show that school is making the subject look the way he does.

  5. great idea for the recreation. I like how you took the title of the original and applies it to the world today. I'm assuming you used a long shutter speed and I think it makes the photo work even more than it if was a quick snapshot of a overwhelmed person.

  6. - You can definitely feel the emotion in this- wanting to die after doing hours of homework, understand this completely
    - I really like the concept and direction you went in
    - I think I would like to see this in black and white, it might make the emotions even more effective
    - If you used a high contrast, it could create a lot of drama

  7. Like the composition, and how you give a context for the figure, a reason why he is the way he is, unlike the original. I like the lighting and focus on the books. The fade-out of the the figure is a really good idea and is done very effectively. Good job!

  8. You did a really good job of incorporating a strong concept into your recreation.

  9. I really like the idea of the student "disappearing" into the image. I think that idea would be more prominent if you were a little more transparent...I can see that you are transparent but not right away. I like how this composition looks like you did nothing to create it-that this is actually what a college-students' room looks like. Cool!

  10. Normally I wouldn't like an image that has so much going on but I feel like the stuff around the human subject depicts the human subjects character. I read this image as a student who could have been killed and has returned to a place where he spent a lot of time.

  11. An interesting recreation. You're recreating the old, faded style with a whole different kind of fade.

  12. the idea of pretending to be dead while you are still alive is interesting. the books and color of your shirt/apparel create an interesting composition and color interplay. it seems that you are making the comment that people can be "dead" even when they are alive? maybe a tighter crop to emphasize the "death" of the living person?

  13. I think by having the subject transparent is working really well with your concept. Having the subject on the right hand side of the photo I think was smart also. Suggestions that I would have would be to maybe put it in black and white and see how it changes the image, or to maybe crop it a bit to make the subject more prominent, compared to the books.

  14. The composition i feel is strong, full of objects in the foreground and background and the way you are fading just like the original recreation image. As a suggestion, maybe have less objects in the background so the focus is on you and the objects in front of you.
